Basic or Translational Scientist – Research Faculty in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Cancer Center – Metabolomics The University of Chicago: Biological Sciences Division: Department of Obstetrics and GynecologyPosition DescriptionThe University of Chicago’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, in partnership with the University of Chicago Medicine Comprehensive Cancer Center (UCCCC), is seeking a tenured or tenure-track faculty member focused on the role of metabolism in cancer. The appointee will establish a robust research program centered around any aspect of metabolism that plays an important role in cancer. Academic rank and tenure status will be dependent on qualifications. Additional responsibilities include teaching and supervision of students (undergraduate, graduate, medical) and/or housestaff and fellows.The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the UCCCC bring together world renowned clinicians and scientists who are focused on conquering cancer and related diseases. The appointee will have access to state-of-the-art core facilities and to outstanding colleagues and graduate students affiliated with numerous degree-granting programs within the BSD. Members of the UCCCC collaborate widely across the BSD, with other Divisions, Schools, and Institutes at the University of Chicago, and with researchers at Argonne National Laboratory and the Marine Biological Laboratory. Competitive research space and start-up funding will be available.
