Are you interested to have an impact on how data-intensive experimental science is done?Two fully funded 2-year postdoctoral positions are available in an interdisciplinary project at the departments of Computer Science and Physics and Astronomy at Aarhus University (AU). The positions are part of a Villum Synergy grant that aims to develop methods for on-the-fly data analysis of results in Angle-Resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy (ARPES) experiments and facilitate exploration of experimental parameters using machine learning methods.The project aspires to carry on with a long tradition, in which experimental physics has relied on, and has often acted as a driving force for computer science, and initiate a research direction towards performing complex analytical tasks on large streaming data by automatically adapting the focus of attention through the integration of machine intelligence and targeted user feedback.Expected start date and duration of employmentThese are two 2–year positions from 01.02.2022 or as soon possible.Job description

PhD in Computer Science, Physics, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields.
Excellent publication record in top-ranked journals or conferences in data mining, machine
Learning, solid-state physics, or related areas.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Good programming skills in C++ and Python.
Advanced experience in at least one of the following areas:
Machine Learning and Deep Learning.
Solid State Physics, in particular angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.
Data Management and Analysis.
