Area of research:Scientific / postdoctoral postsStarting date:30.11.2021Job description:You will be responsible for developing and validating multiscale models to describe the growth, structure, and electronic properties of soft matter as well as its function. In particular, you will study polymers for 3D printing and metal-organic frameworks (MOF) using methods to describe the electronic structure, as well as molecular dynamics simulations with coarse-grained and all-atom models. Specific projects include optimizing the properties of printed polymer networks (resolution vs. mechanical properties) and predicting the properties and growth of MOF. In addition, you will assist project partners in the development and implementation of simulation methods for these projects. The methods are to be applied to current problems in the field of nanoscale multimaterial 3D printing and the properties of metal-organic fraemwoks in cooperation with materials science research groups at KIT and international/national initiatives. This research center is part of the Helmholtz Association of German Research Centers. With more than 42,000 employees and an annual budget of over € 5 billion, the Helmholtz Association is Germany’s largest scientific organisation.
