The Faculty of Biology of the University of Freiburg invites applications for a
Full Professorship (W3) for Functional Proteomics
in the Institute of Biology II to be filled at the earliest possible date.
We are looking for candidates with an internationally visible and competitive research programme in the proteomic analysis of structure and dynamics of signalling complexes/pathways and networks. We expect a strong expertise in the identification of proteins in complex mixtures, the analysis of posttranslational modifications of proteins and quantitative mass spectrometry. Models can be prokaryotic, plants as well as other eukaryotic organisms or systems. A special research focus of the professorship should be on the analysis of biological signalling pathways. A close integration into the Cluster of Excellence CIBSS and into the Signalling Research Centre BIOSS is expected. It is further desired, that the professorship contributes to other collaborative research programmes such as CRCs 1381, CRC-TRR 130, or RTG 2202 and that it is actively involved in new initiatives, for example in a planned CRC initiative in plant sciences. In addition, the position offers the opportunity to profitably integrate into an existing, broad local cooperation network.
With regard to teaching, it is expected that the professorship will contribute to the Bachelor and Master study programs.
Prerequisites for the employment of Professors are a university degree, an outstanding dissertation and an excellent publication record. Substantial achievements and experience in academic research and teaching, at the level of a Habilitation according to the German academic system are expected.
We are particularly pleased to receive applications from women for the position advertised here.
