A postdoctoral scholarship is available to study gene regulation by MYCN oncogene using human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) derived neural crest cells in Tanmoy_Mondal_lab at the Clinical Chemistry, Institute of Biomedicine at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden where project will require experience in cell biology and with animal model for cancer research.
Project Description
The researcher will work on a project aimed at better understanding the role of MYCN oncogene in Neuroblastoma using hESCs derived Neural crest cell model. The study will involve animal model of Neuroblastoma, cell biology, chromatin and RNA biology related techniques using neural crest cells to decipher MYCN function with a goal to identify novel drug targets for Neuroblastoma.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with recent PhD or expecting to finish his/her PhD before application deadline. The candidate should have expertise in Cell biology and animal model for cancer or other diseases. Work experience in biochemical and molecular biology techniques such as western blotting, cloning, transfections and CRISPR base gene editing or with microscopy are plus. The candidate is expected to be capable of planning and executing experiments independently and to actively participate in scientific discussions within the group. Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.
The scholarship:
Funding is in the form of a tax-exempt scholarship. The funding is provided by Barncancerfonden for a maximum of two years.
