Description The DEWA R&D Center is looking to fill the vacancy of a researcher to contribute to project for Automated and safe operations on high voltage power lines using robotic solutions. Specifically, the researcher will develop: Collecting data by multiple visual sensors and integrating them to build environment model and operation sequences Develop computer vision-based models for autonomous manipulation Field testing the robotic system preforming maintenance tasks based on earlier developed AI model
This project focusses on development of AI-assisted robotic manipulator for inspection, maintenance, and repair (IMR) of industrial infrastructure. Additionally, sensor systems, for gathering the field data, recoding the conventional maintenance, and camera network need to be developed.
Candidate should have knowledge in both classical and learning based computer vision, AI, OpenCV, Python and familiar with ROS. The Candidate should be experienced in at least one of the AI-ML frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch with some familiarity in Robotics. He should be able to lead the project and work closely with the business unit to deliver the project.
Basic Qualifications:
MS in a related discipline e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics etc. with specialization in computer vision.
Knowledge of classical machine vision, machine learning and deep learning-based machine vision.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in a related discipline e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics with specialization in Computer Vision.
Scopus-indexed publication record
Experience with optimization and programming packages (OpenCV, TensorFlow, PyTorch, ROS, Python, MATLAB).
Good command in classical machine vision, machine learning and deep learning-based machine vision.
General modeling and simulation skills (e.g., System Dynamics, Agent-based modeling etc.)
